The performance has two intervals.
The duration of the performance is 3 hours 40 minutes.

The dispute play of early 1950s about Jeanne d’Arc, carrying the author’s concerns on the fate of France, turned out in the performance to be thoughts about a human and personal mission of each of us. A cruel story about a thoroughgoing herdswoman destined by celestial voices for a way to liberate France is softened with forgiving irony. The Lark by S. Spivak is not only a new interpretation of the plot, but also a hymn for art, a creative origin in the human being; a philosophic parable about a derelict artist creating his incomprehensible world; an artist who preserved himself in a chaos of life, though hopelessly lone at all times.
